Sara loved her wedding and is kind enough to share with our viewers how she and her mom created such a wonderful wedding.
"My mom and I spent 8.5 months planning the wedding for my husband and I and I have to say that I can't think of one thing that I would change. It's so hard to try and visualize how you think your wedding day will turn out, but I can't complain about anything.
Aside from the things that we did ourselves, our day would not have been possible without the help from all of our wedding specialists. We chose the InterContinental Hotel in Boston for many reasons. The most important reasons being that it was convenient for all of our guests, it was right on Boston Harbor and the staff; including Paul Melino were wonderful to work with.
We used Nancy from Le Jardin Blanc for our florist and I have to say that we were the most nervous about that particular part of the wedding, only because you really can't tell what the flowers will look like until the day of. When Nancy arrived on the day of our wedding, I caught a few glimpses of the set up. I was in love and so happy we used her. It was such an amazing feeling to walk into the reception (before people were allowed in) and see such a work of art! We used Suzanne Lowell for our lighting, which was something we decided a little closer to the wedding. It made everything beautiful and the ceremony had such a romantic feel to it. Ellen at Cakes to Remember makes a great cake. We wanted something a little different and when we saw the final product, we were extremely pleased. Our linens came from Table Toppers although our florist did all of work with them.
Last but not least, our favorite wedding specialist was Hal Slifer. He is the reason why we can now re-live our wedding day over and over. He was recommended by a friend and was the only videographer we met with. It didn't take long after we left his office that we wanted him to do our wedding. Hal offers his signature product, "Wedding at the Wedding", which Todd and I went back and fourth on for a couple of weeks. We didn't want to take any time away from our guests to dance and wasn't really sure it was for us. We eventually decided to do the Wedding at the Wedding and I couldn't have been happier. It was truly one of the best decisions during the planning of our wedding. The Wedding at the Wedding is a history of the bride and groom (for those guests who don't know) and a picture montage set to different songs and funny clips from your favorite t.v show or movie. The most incredible part of the video is that it shows a clip of the bride & groom see each other for the first time as well as a clip from the ceremony & reception. The guests were WOW'd and none of them had ever seen anything like it. In fact, my mom was SO glad that we chose to do this that she now keeps a copy of the DVD in her purse and shows it to people on a moments notice!!!
I think my biggest piece of advice for future brides, is to take it all in. The wedding day goes by in a flash!!
We want to thank all of our family and friends for all of their love and supports, but most of all, for sharing the happiest day of our lives!
We love you all!"
Good for people to know.
